James Owen is Hiding in Plain Sight.

James Owen

Do you work exclusively in Cinema 4D/ What other tools do you use?

It’s certainly where the bulk of my work either begins or ends but I honestly float around all sorts of applications. I’ll explore anything in order to execute upon an idea.

What is the dialogue you’re attempting to have with viewers in your work? Particularly with the more abstract pieces?

In the same way, I approach other people’s work with an open frame of mind and a desire to learn more and ask questions of the piece, that’s all I can really ask of the audience to my work. Yes, I’m trying to tell stories and carve out narratives in some of my pieces, but if someone takes away a different message or has an alternative point of view, then that’s great, I’ve opened up a dialogue of conversation.

What are you working on next?

I’m developing Xavier a little further and have several surprises lined up which I’ll be releasing more details about soon. Otherwise, there are a number of other projects that I’m involved in to some degree, but again, more on that when the time is right.

Anything else you’d like to share?

Thank you so much for having me, it’s been a real pleasure!
